HOUSTON — The Houston Cougars ended their season on a sour note, losing to Memphis 48-44 and finishing the regular season with a 9-3 record.

Rumors continue to swirl around University of Houston Head Coach Tom Herman. ESPN is saying LSU may finalize a deal as early as Saturday.

UH offered Herman  a contract extension that includes a “seven-figure increase” in total compensation earlier this week.

LSU isn’t the only potential suitor. Herman could stay in Texas and just head west.

UT Austin is dealing with their own share of coaching complications with reports that they’ll let go of Head Coach Charlie Strong, and some speculate they want a shot at Herman.
