HOUSTON — There are moments when the holiday season can be a pain in the butt — an experience that was all too true for a teen early Monday morning in southwest Houston.

The Houston Police Department is investigating after a 14-year-old boy was found shot in the buttocks and arm near W. Fuqua and Alrover streets around 3 a.m. , authorities said. He was taken to Memorial Herman hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

When officers arrived, they also found a white Mustang that had crashed into a light pole and two other men at the scene, the department said.

“The males advised their vehicle had been shot up,” Lt. Larry Crowson said. “They had been followed by a Pontiac and a Chrysler.”

Investigators said reports of a another shooting on Dalmation Drive at Littleford Street came in few moments later. Carson said police found a second man shot in the leg about 30 minutes after the calls started pouring in. The second victim is also expected to survive, he said.

“We get calls in the neighborhood, just to the north. There were several males knocking on doors and advising they’d been shot at — or shot,” Crowson said.

Officers stopped a suspicious Honda with three armed men inside, police said. However, investigators are not sure the group had a part in the shootings.

Carson said investigators believe the two shootings are related but are getting conflicting stories from witness at the different scenes.
