HPD: Serial rapist arrested after targeting women for months in southeast Houston

HOUSTON — An accused serial rapist has been arrested and investigators are searching for other possible victims, the Houston Police Department said.

David E. Beard is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault.

Officials believe he is responsible for at least six sexual assaults across southeast Houston since May.

According to police, the suspect drove a red or maroon four-door car while preying on his victims in the late morning.

In each case, the suspect forced a victim into his car, threatened her and ordered her to perform a sexual act on him with their eyes closed. The alleged rapist would then pulled into the garage of a residence and sexually assault the woman again.

After the assaults,investigators said the suspect dropped off each victim on the southwest side of Houston near Dunlap and Dublin Street.

Beard was identified by two victims and taken into custody without incident, the department said.

He is being held at the Harris County Jail without bond.
