All workers accounted for after explosion at Valero plant in Texas City, officials say

TEXAS CITY, Texas — All workers at the Valero plant in Texas City have been accounted for after an explosion Thursday afternoon.

The smoke could be seen for miles, but on Twitter, Texas City officials said there was no need to issue a shelter-in-place.

Fire crews contained the fire before 6:30 p.m. and are keeping an eye on the situation.
