Convicted, high-risk sex offender in custody after escaping halfway house in SE Houston

HOUSTON — A convicted, high-risk sex offender is in custody Tuesday after escaping a halfway house in south Houston, according to Crime Stoppers.

Jerry Don Seib, 53, was a resident at the house in the 10900 block of Beaumont Street. He reportedly escaped the home Thursday morning.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office released a photo of Seib, which help lead investigators to his location.

On Tuesday, Seib was taken into custody and motion was filed to have his parole revoked.

Seib was convicted of five counts of indecency with a child in Kerry County.
