CONROE, Texas – Forget being grounded, police had to bring out the handcuffs.  Two sisters, 12 and 5 years old, are in big trouble with the law after leading police on a wild, high-speed chase in their grandmother’s car! Authorities said the older girl took the grandmother’s car from New Caney and the two set off on on joyride.

At first their grandmother reported the car stolen, thinking the girls were kidnapped, but that turned out not to be the case.

Conroe police spotted the car in the 12000 block of West Davis and initiated a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over.  The girls headed west on State Highway 105, reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, and even side-swiped two vehicles during the chase.

Onstar disabled the vehicle, which finally came to a stop in the Montgomery High School parking lot, and imagine the surprise when it was discovered who actually was behind the wheel!

Thankfully, no one was injured during the chase.

The preteen driver was arrested by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for theft of property over $30,000; which is a third degree felony.  Further charges are pending.
