2-alarm fire leaves several townhomes damaged in SW Houston

HOUSTON – Dozens of firefighters were battling a 2-alarm fire early Thursday morning at a townhome complex in southwest Houston.

The fire started around 3:00 a.m. at the Briarwood Apartments off Ella Lee Lane and Winrock.

Crews were able to contain the blaze, but several of the townhomes were damaged and one three people was taken to local hospitals.

No word yet on their conditions.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
