PASADENA, TX – The smells of the 2014 Pasadena Strawberry Festival sweetened the air this weekend with a little family fun and a whole lot of fruit.
Every year since 1974, the “Strawberry Capitol of the South” has celebrated Pasadena’s heritage, and raised money to help preserve Texas history. The event is presented by the San Jacinto Day Foundation.
This year they broke the world record for the world’s largest strawberry shortcake. At over 2000 sq. ft. of cake!
Wow, everything really is bigger in Texas. And if any of that is left over at the end of the festival, it’s given to area non-profits.
What a sweet way to spend a Sunday!
