HOLLYWOOD, California - Time flies, McFly! It's 2015, the year "Back to the Future II" imagined would be full of hoverboards, flying cars and weird fashion. Unfortunately, we're not quite there yet. Further proof that time travel can be a disappointing experience.
But 2015 takes us to the past as well. The American Civil War came to an end 150 years ago and Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. Seventy-five years ago the first McDonald's opened in California while 70 years ago, World War II ended in Europe and the first atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
In addition, 50 years ago the hills came alive with "The Sound of Music." And most importantly: this year marks the 10th anniversary of the first YouTube video.
It looks like history and science-fiction are crossing paths this 2015. But let's be honest: after this past New Year's celebration, we'll bet you still don't know what day it is.
