HOUSTON — Six men and three women were arrested early November in an undercover sting targeting prostitution.
During the first two weeks of Nov., investigators with the Harris County Precinct 4 Office conducted undercover operations focusing on prostitution, both in hotels and on the streets.
After receiving numerous complaints from citizens of Precinct 4 regarding street-level prostitution problems, constables busted three women who were soliciting prostitution near the North Freeway and Cypresswood Drive.
At another location, investigators nabbed six men who were allegedly soliciting undercover officers near Huffmeister and Fleur De Li.
The following people were all charged with prostitution:
- Kachandra Robinson, 21, bond set at $5,000.
- Lanna Martinez, 42, bond set at $3,500
- Catherine Bennett, 20, bond set at $500
- Jesus Omar Rodriguez, 32, bond set at $500
- David Medina, 26, bond set at $3500
- Martin Francisco Alvarez, 41, bond set at $500
- Russell Louis Forrest, 33, bond set at $500
- G. Durand (age and bond amount not given)
Charles Edward Mitcham, 68, was charged with prostitution and drug possession. Bond set at $5,000.
Constable Mark Herman will continue to focus on the prostitution issues plaguing the residential and business districts of Precinct 4.
“The businesses and citizens of north Harris County have made it clear that they refuse to just stand by and allow their communities to deteriorate to the point where prostitution is looked upon as a normal part of our local society,” Herman said. “These types of illegal activities seem to attract other bad elements such as drug dealers and users, thieves and others who would prey upon our local residents. It will not be overlooked, tolerated or condoned within our local communities where we live and raise our children.”
To report illegal prostitution or other unlawful activities, citizens may go to www.cd4.hctx.net. Complainants can remain anonymous.
