8-Year-Old Invents Healthy Eating App

appRANCHO CORDOVA, CA – When you were 8-years-old, what were you doing? Probably just out playing or something, right? Well a boy in California isn’t using his playtime to start a movement.

One day Nicolas Come was out in the garden with his dad. His dad was teaching him the benefits of fruit and vegetables. That`s when Nicolas told his dad he wanted to come up with a way to let people online know about this. So he invented an app.

Nicolas headed to the Hack-a-Thon. It’s an event where computer geeks come together and geek out over computer stuff, mostly software. That’s where Nicolas found his team of experts that helped him kick start the project. The app is called Nicolas’ Garden. It allows users to look up their favorite foods and get healthy recipes.

Nicolas is even looking at the bigger picture. He’s entering a healthy recipe contest that First Lady Michelle Obama is organizing. If he wins, he’ll have dinner with the President. Hopefully, a healthy one.
