OLATHE, KS – Forget whistling while you work, why not walking while you work?

911 dispatchers at the Johnson County Sheriff’s office, in Kansas, walk and talk.

The county has installed treadmill desks. Officials believe moving will keep the dispatchers alert especially those working overnights or odd hours. They do have the option to use regular desks.

The treadmills cost about $1500 each. But deputies say the investment is worth it.
