Abercrombie & Fitch Under Fire After CEO Comments

AFLOS ANGELES, CA – A look at an Abercrombie ad and you’d wonder if they were selling any clothes at all. And a walk into the store, it’s no doubt they’re catering toward a certain audience.

Now some comments that the company’s CEO, Mike Jeffries made years ago were recently published in the Business Insider. It’s getting tons of heat. He reportedly said:

‘In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. We go after the cool kids. A lot of people don’t belong, and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.’

There’s also word that Jeffries doesn’t want overweight women wearing his clothes. And as you can imagine, the comments didn’t sit too well with many.

So a Los Angeles based writer, Greg Karber started an online campaign #FitchTheHomeless. He’s buying used Abercrombie clothes and donating to homeless people.

Abercrombie hasn’t commented on the viral campaign.
