HOUSTON, TX – Everyone expects the bang of fireworks this 4th of July weekend. But did you hear about the travel boom? Yeah, folks are gearing up for Independence Day by hitting the road. And not only are they burning incendiary fuses, they’re also burning rubber. 3.1 million Texas will be traveling, and out of that total, 2.6 million will be driving to their destination. Those numbers will make this holiday weekend the most traveled in the past 5 to 7 years!

Right now, the Texas average for a gallon of gas is $2.57. Ninety cents less than what we were paying a year ago. When applying those savings to an average fill up of $36 for a family sized vehicle, drivers are going to save about $13 for this July 4th weekend. Stay safe, save some money and see y’all on the road!
