HOUSTON – When looking into the future, sometimes it`s best to be a little blind. Alma Balleza suffers from retinitis pigmentosa, in other words she has tunnel vision.

The mother of three will never let it slow her down. She`s graduating with honors from the University of Houston Downtown with a criminal justice degree and plans to do a lot with it.

One of her sons is also part of the fall 2013 class graduating from University of Houston Central.  He couldn’t feel prouder to share the moment with his mother.

All of this makes us feel Alma is a very special lady even if she doesn’t believe it.

A special woman with cool gadgets, drive, determination, but most of all she has a very distinct message. And that kind of attitude is sure to magnify the brightness of anyone’s future.
