queenLOWELL, MA – The Boston Marathon bombing is a tragedy many will never forget. Through the chaos came stories of heartache, but also some of inspiration.

Sydney Corcoran is 18-years-old and survived the blast along with mother. They’re motto in life is now, “We are not wimpy women.”And through the weeks of lying in a hospital bed and recovering, Sydney found strength by making goals for herself. Most importantly, being able to attend her prom and graduate from high school.

Her prom was made even more special, as she was crowned the prom queen. Now she has a crown to hang next to her marathon medal. It’s just a little shiny proof that only makes her motto truer, that she is not a wimpy woman.
