HOUSTON – A trio of burglary suspects in northeast Houston must have really needed a cigarette.
Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Houston Police say the men used a sledgehammer to bust through the wall of a convenience store in the 6700 block of Laura Koppe Rd. Officers say the men then grabbed tobacco products, the cash box from the ATM and the contents of some game machines.
“The owner of the store was home when the alarm went off. He was able to access the cameras via the Internet and saw three males inside the store,” said HPD Lt. Larry Crowson.
When officers got to the scene, they caught one suspect still inside the store. They say the other two men involved took off, but a K9 found one of them hiding behind a house. The third suspect is still on the loose.
