WASHINGTON, D.C. – The presidential election for 2016 will be the most expensive campaign season in history, just like every other presidential campaign season, ever. And already, some interesting developments are popping up this go around.
Ted Cruz is making headlines for raising $4 million in just nine days. That money is coming from both the Lone Star State`s biggest republican donors, and also people who backed his 2012 U.S. Senate run.
Where Hillary Clinton’s money is coming from is under attack, so she’s choosing to change the way her Clinton Foundation accepts foreign donations after Rand Paul criticized it accepting money from countries that abuses women`s rights. From here on out only six, non-controversial foreign countries will be allowed to donate.
Speaking of Rand Paul, he’s kissing up to legendary cash cows, the Koch brothers, who are projected to spend nearly $1 billion this election cycle. In his op-ed for Time’s ‘100 Most Influential People,’ Paul gushed over their activism, and points to their lobbying against special interests as proof they don`t …”troll the halls of congress looking for favors…”
All the while Jeb Bush, who hasn`t even announced he`s running yet, is said to have some of the Republican party`s biggest backers waiting to put their money in his coffers.
