HOUSTON, TX – He is one of the world’s greatest athletes. Before Olympian Carl Lewis earned nine gold medals for the U.S. he was a six-time All-American, and took home nine individual conference titles during his time as a student at the University of Houston. The man who can run like a cheetah is now officially a Cougar.

52-year-old Lewis is taking his place as an assistant track & field coach at his alma mater. Lewis says he calls Houston home, and says he’s thrilled to be back, as he attributes his success on the track to the University of Houston.

Perhaps we’ll see more super-stars coming out of UH, because training with a champion means training like a champion, and who better than someone who has run many, many miles in their track-shoes!
