HOUSTON, TX – Hundreds of hopeful dancers competed Saturday afternoon at the 2016 Houston Texans Cheerleader Tryouts. Saturday’s event had three rounds of judging and on Monday, there will be a final competition.
“This year’s special because we have the Super Bowl coming to town, and we’re going to Mexico City to play a game,” Houston Texans Cheerleader programs manager Alto Gary said. “I really want some strong dancers, but even if they have a great personality and not be such a strong dancer, I can still work with that.”
According to the Texans Public Relations staff, the requirements to try out were:
“Candidates must be 18 years or older, have graduated from high school or obtained a G.E.D., and must be either a part-time student or have a part-time job in order to be eligible for the 2016 Houston Texans Cheerleader Tryouts. Houston Texans Cheerleaders are paid on an hourly-rate basis for appearances, rehearsals, gamedays, and all other hours worked. “
