NEW YORK, NY - Usually the theme surrounding Joan Rivers is tears of laughter.
On Sunday, tears of sadness were shed as hundreds attended her funeral at Temple Emanu-El in Manhattan.
Joan's voice may no longer be heard from center stage, but her spirit of humor and pizazz, will resound throughout the entertainment industry forever.
Rivers had once joked that she wanted her funeral to be a "big showbiz affair," and you know it was. Her famous friends showed up. Broadway singer Audra McDonald sang, and Howard Stern gave the eulogy.
Bitter-sweet moments for Joan's friends and family. Even on this sad day, Joan, herself, would have a way to make light of heavy hearts.
