XICHANG, CHINA – It was all hands on deck as China successfully launched its first mission to the moon.

If all goes as planned, China will become the third nation, behind the United States and the old Soviet Union, to soft-land a probe, or in this case, a Jade Rabbit, on the face of the moon.

Sorry, but this rabbit is not designed to send you over the moon. This six-wheeled vehicle is designed to travel over the moon’s surface.

The rover will survey the landscape to determine the safest place to park, sorta like we do while trolling for a space at the mall, but with more success.

We assume these Chinese rocket scientists are applauding their Jade Rabbit, and not Joe Biden.

That’s a segue into the VP’s trip to Japan, China, and South Korea.

One of Biden’s goals is to settle problems among the three countries, like the East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone China set up last month that includes a set of islands claimed by China and Japan.

Oh, but wait, there’s more.

A truck carrying eight tons of fireworks caught fire after a traffic accident.  It took firefighters 5-and-a-half hours to put it out.

And before we leave China, here’s some pandering to panda fans.

This cub was born four months ago in a safari park in China, the first panda bred in captivity there.

Not to be out panda-ed, the National Zoo in Washington unveiled the name of its new giant panda cub: Bao Bao which means precious and treasure.

The zoo chose the name from five possibilities voted on by more than 12,000 panda lovers.

And that brings us to the end.
