“I’d have to say my favorite class is football of course. No that’s not a class…”
Jordan Thomas knows football is not a class, but this senior is being asked to learn a lot as the quarterback for Klein Collins High School.
Thomas says, “I played corner my freshman year. In my sophomore year, I played safety and corner, and last year I played receiver. Now, I’m playing quarterback. I know the game from every angle.”
Klein Collins head football coach Drew Svoboda adds, “When you’ve been exposed to that many different layers of the game of football, both offensively and defensively, just you’re overall football IQ increases.”
This week’s class act has a pretty good I.Q. in the classroom as well. Thomas has already been accepted by Northwestern University.
“I plan to study chemical engineering or petroleum engineering.”
Seems to be the right course of action for Thomas considering his favorite classes involve physics, but wait, that’s not all.
Thomas says, “I hold the school’s recordin triple jump at 47′ 3 and you know I’m also a slight musician. I play the piano and I also play the saxaphone.”
Of course Thomas hopes he’s able to hit the right tune on the field to lead the Tigers past the first round of the playoffs.
Svoboda says, “He is a team guy because he knows that him playing quarterback is giving us the best opportunity to win this district championship which is one of our goals.”
Thomas adds, “My plan is to just lead our team to get over the hump. I want to go deep in the playoffs, It’s my senior year so I want to go out with a bang.”
