PERINTON, NY -- Derrick St. Arnaud has a slush puppy machine to thank for being alive.
To be clear, the upstate New York convenience store clerk isn't exactly freaking out over having narrowly escaped death when a car rammed into his station. In fact, he thinks it's kind of funny!
“For all I know the pump could have exploded, that's how crazy it was,” he told local media with laughter.
Derrick had apparently just walked over to make a slushie when a car slammed into his store, knocking out the cash register and making a giant mess.
“I had no idea, and then I turned around and saw the car sticking in here and was like ‘oh that's not good,’” he says.
The driver is reportedly okay and Derrick only has a minor scratch, which officially rounds out this cool story.
