HOUSTON, TX – It’s said the 8th wonder of the world is right here in Houston. But are you going to open your wallet to save the Astrodome?

The Harris County Commissioner’s Court ruled unanimously to put a proposal -that would turn the Astrodome into a convention center– on November’s ballot. The $217 million plan really should be up to the voters – especially since that’s who’s paying!

The pitch asks voters to raise their property taxes $8 a year on average, starting in 2015.

It would ultimately yield a 35,000 square foot event center and decent sized park where the dilapidated dome now stands.

But are you going to stand for the cause? Think it over and let us know in November.
