WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congress and the White House may have problems coming to any kind of bi-partisan agreement, but the rest of us seem to agree on one thing: Democrats and Republicans are party poopers.

The Gallup people asked around and determined 85% of the American people think congress is pretty crappy. That 15% approval rating is better than the all-time lows of 10% in February and August of last year.

Some of the lingering dissatisfaction with congress can be blamed on the senate`s inability to pass a budget since April 29, 2009.

That was more than 950 days ago.

A baby born on that day would be more than 2-and-a-half years old. That’s old enough to have a 2-pack-a-day habit if you live in Indonesia.

That whole Deepwater Horizon oil disaster happened since the Senate passed a budget bill.

We’ve been exposed to a royal tush or two, or three, since the last time the Senate passed a budget bill.

Estonia, yes, Estonia, even adopted the euro since the last time the Senate passed a budget bill.

Oh, yeah, and we’ve had congressional and presidential elections since the last time the Senate passed a budget bill.

At this rate, the Catholics will have a new pope before we get a new budget!
