County clerk charged with dumping legal documents

HARRIS COUNTY, TX -- A Harris County clerk  appeared in PC court, overnight, accused of dumping court documents.

Steven Calyen was seen throwing out sensitive court documents, including sealed ones, inside the criminal court house, yesterday.

He was arrested immediately.

Investigators say he was upset and turned in his resignation, earlier, knowing he was about to be fired.

He now faces a felony charge of tampering with government records.

If convicted he faces up to ten years behind bars.
