voiceHOUSTON, TX – It was a hell of a night for a local teenager. After three-months of grueling competition, 16-year-old Cy-Ranch High School student, Danielle Bradbery, was crowned winner of the NBC hit talent show, ‘the voice.’

As amazing a victory as it is, friends and family here in Houston say they aren’t surprised.

“I knew she had this all along, but to finally hear it was just unreal,” says Haley Haines. Haley is Danielle’s best friend.

Growing up together, she says she always knew her friend was bound for stardom.

“When I met her I had no idea she had that voice and when she first sang to me I was like, ‘oh my gosh, you need to go sing in front of famous people or something.'”

And while the rest of the world gets to know Danielle Bradbery as a superstar, those friends and family here in Houston will always know her as Danielle.

“Usually she’s here and we’re watching all the singers and competitions and she’s singing in my room,’ Haley says. ‘And then to see her sing in front of all these people is just crazy.”
