HOUSTON -There's nothing better at the end of a long day than a hand-made burger and an ice-cold beer. In fact, around these parts, it's practically a staple. But how you like your burger is another affair. Bacon? Jalapenos? Mushrooms? Or maybe all the above. If that's the case, you ought to check out eT Craft Burgers and Beer.
"You can add bacon, cheese, any of our specialty ingredients," President Al Pepi explains, "toppings, spreads, avocado at the same price."
eT has been open in the downtown tunnel for awhile, but now the joint is branching out. The idea is for you to be able to build your own burger, add all the toppings you like, for one simple price. Throw in an array of flavored fries and an ice cold beer, and you've a meal built for a Texan.
"I got the Diablo," customer Richard Solis told us over a freshly emptied plate, "added bacon and pepperjack cheese. It was good, very tasty."
But the guys at eT want to keep things close to home so Chew on This: all of eT's craft beers come from local breweries. "The whole concept is about local," Operations Director Nicholas Everitt says, "being in the community and we felt that the beer program had to match that."
Hand-made burgers, all the topping you want, and local craft beer. If that ain't Houston, nothing is.
