BLUEFIELD, WV – Folks on the Carnival Dream must have felt like they got the short end of the stick. The ship lost power, they got sent home early and it definitely wasn’t the vacation anyone had in-mind.

So just imagine how Walter McNeal must have felt when he left one disaster, only to return to another one.

The poor guy and his family went from a broken down cruise ship in St. Maarten to a semi burned down home in West Virginia. Fire officials say about 40% of the family’s home was engulfed when crews arrived on the scene. They are still trying to determine exactly how the fire started.

For what it’s worth, maybe this puts things into a little perspective. A nightmarish vacation at sea isn’t the end of the world, and remarkably, McNeal says losing half his home isn’t either.  With an attitude like that, he’s got to be due for a boat-load of blessings soon.
