LOS ANGELES – Fight or flight? A group of women brawling caught on camera out of control on a plane from Baltimore to Los Angeles.
Cell phone video shows hair-pulling and fist-flying. At one point a woman falls on the floor before getting back into the scuffle.
The cat fight broke out on a Spirit Airlines flight. The airline said things escalated after two female passengers blasted their boombox and waved it in the air when they were asked by other passengers to turn it down. That’s when things got physical.
The FBI said none of the five women involved were charged. So, no one landed in jail; but a different cat fight caught on camera in Galion, Ohio landed a teenage girl in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say 16-year-old Maddie was lured into the neighborhood group fight that left her with fractured ribs, a ruptured spleen, and internal bleeding.
“Everybody had the cell phone in their hand and was willing to videotape it, but not one of them was willing to 9-1-1,” said Galion Police chief, Brian Saterfield.
Family friend Bill Baker said, “Kids have the wrong impression that violence is okay. If you get Facebook likes, you’re more popular than somebody else.”
Maddie’s family expects her to physically to recover soon, but the emotional scars could take a lot longer.
