NASSAU COUNTY, Fl. — A suspected cop killer is off the streets!

Police said Royheem Deeds, 24, who is suspected of fatally shooting a police officer in Georgia Saturday night, was found early Monday morning hiding in his sister's car in Florida.

Florida officers pulled the vehicle over when Deeds' sister was behind the wheel with her boyfriend riding shotgun, but Deeds wasn't in the back seat.

"A search of the vehicle was conducted and revealed (Deeds) was hiding in the trunk of the vehicle," Sheriff Bill Leeper of the Nassau County Sheriff's Office said.

Police arrested Deeds for murder and his sister and her boyfriend for hiding a fugitive.

Officials said the trio will be sent back to Georgia to stand trial.

Deeds is suspected in the ambush-style shooting death of Georgia police officer Tim Smith, who responded to a suspicious person call.

Smith later died in a Georgia hospital.

"It's very sad when that happens," Leeper said. "But it's certainly a good day when we find the individual that did it and arrest him."

Smith would have turned 31 Monday, but instead of a birthday celebration, his family is planning his funeral.
