KATY, Texas — A former Katy ISD teacher has resigned after allegedly being intimate with a student in a number of places, including school storage closets, cheap motels and was even caught by a cop having sex with the girl in a car.
Robert Evan Milton was charged with improper relationship with student.
The student said her relationship with Milton, an art teacher, began on Instagram. The girl was excited about the attention, and admitted that she had a crush on him. She said Milton would tell her that he was unhappy with his wife and was available to date.
According to court documents, the student was 18 years old and scheduled to graduate in 2015. Milton, who was also a photographer, offered to take her senior pictures. The teen’s mother paid Milton to take the photos and the two arranged a photo session at a garden in the Museum District.
During the photo session, which happened on April 19, it began to rain. The two ran back to Milton’s car and allegedly began to kiss and fondle one another.
The teen said she stopped that day because she began to feel uncomfortable, but the relationship did not end. In fact, it progressed.
The teen said she would stay with the teacher after school on Thursdays, and they would go into a storage closet to kiss and touch each other.
That kissing eventually led to sexual intercourse, which occurred before and after the teen graduated, investigators said.
On one occassion, an officer allegedly caught the two having sex inside Milton’s car in Brookshire, Texas, but allowed them to leave because the girl was of legal age. The girl said the officer scolded Milton, however, saying he was “old enough to be her father” and told them to “get out of here.”
Other times, the girl said, Milton would rent cheap hotels for them to have sex at. Investigators went to a number of the “pay-by-the-hour” establishments and learned that Milton had rented rooms for two to three hours on several occassions and paid cash.
Even though the student was of the legal age to consent to sex, Milton’s actions were against the law because she was still a student at the school where he was employed.
Charges were filed and Milton’s bail was set at $30,000.
Katy ISD released the following statement:
