Nike founder donates $500 million for cancer research

PORTLAND, OR – It gives new meaning to kicking cancer. Nike founder Phil Knight has pledged $500 million to Oregon Health and Science University for cancer research. The money is contingent upon UHSU raising an additional $500 million in the next two years.

Knight and his wife also gave $100 million toward the cause back in 2008, and last year, they pledged $125 million for a cardiovascular institute.
