GALVESTON, TX – Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Galveston County Jail Monday night.

Sheriff’s deputies say 38-year-old Dominic Potter simply walked away while taking out the trash from the kitchen.

Potter, who was wearing a blue jumpsuit, was last seen running across a field toward the 5700 block of Broadway in Galveston.

He was being held on a $50,000 bond for forging a government document.

Anyone who knows of Potter’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.
