HOUSTON, TX - What do you spend on groceries each week? Do you spend $50, $75 or $100? How about $29? Sounds ridiculous, but that`s what a lot of stars and politicians are doing. They are doing this to raise awareness of proposed cuts to the program that supplies food stamps to people in need.

Gwyneth Paltrow accepted the challenge. Only, what seems like a great idea, might be overshadowed by poor execution. The actress posted a tweet revealing her seven-day menu. She bought eggs, an avocado, an ear of corn, tomato, a bunch of kale, a potato, limes, clove of garlic, tortillas, rice, beans, and peas.

A good healthy list, but kale is not even available for most of those shopping on food stamps.

One shopper at Houston grocery store said, "If she`s trying o tell you that it`s easy to do and you can live of it then she`s wrong."

Aaron Amador of Foodarama says, "They buy everything monthly. So, when you buy in bulk and you plan out a lot better, the job of putting together a well-balanced diet is easier as opposed to buying just kale and limes."
