HOUSTON, TX – It’s Hollywood interpretation of every Alcoholic Anonymous meeting that ever happened. “Hi my name is _____ and I’m an alcoholic.”

You won’t hear that admission by anyone in Harris County’s “Sober DWI Court Program” anymore.

March 17th was graduation day for the completion of the program that helps serious addicts in the rigorous treatment program under close supervision.

41 men and women worked really hard to get through the intensive alcohol treatment program to arrive at graduation day.

Keep in mind, research has proven that DWI courts are more effective than sending folks with dependence issues off to jail. Harris County’s also adding two new sober court dockets, which means they’ll have more room for any “over-indulgers” in the program.

Keep that in mind this Spring Break.
