HOUSTON — A man was fatally shot and two other men were wounded after a shooting at a northwest Houston grocery store Friday night, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the DJ Food Store in the 13200 block of  Veterans Memorial Drive near Bammel North Houston Road around 6:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies found three people shot in the grocery store’s parking lot.

A surveillance video showed that Judas Deluna, 22, was involved in an altercation near a  taco stand in the parking lot. Deluna returned to his vehicle, retrieved a pistol and shot the first victim multiple times.

The store owner’s son, Rahman Rupani, 30, and another bystander came out the store to help the victim. Deluna fired several additional shots, striking Rupani and the second bystander.

Deluna and two other men fled the scene in a 2003 to 2006 black Lincoln Navigator.

Rupani and the two other victims were transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center. Rupnai was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital and the other victims were in stable condition.

Deputies located the Navigator around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Antoine Road and W. Greens Road.

Homicide investigators were able to trace the vehicle to Deluna and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
