HOUSTON, TEXAS – As the city of Houston came alive to honor the late Dr. Martin King, the Houston Astros kicked off their own celebration of sorts…
Their annual fan outreach tour. We’re talking over 30 stops throughout Houston, Texas, Oklahoma City, and Louisiana.
At each stop fans help the Astros raise a flag, ith the goal of having their colors flying high throughout Astros Country.
And it didn’t stop there, the Astros were also busy with the Urban Youth Academy which is run by the Astros Foundation.
Today was the annual service day at the facility and it was all about putting in work to spruce things up.
Just in time for spring training and the 2014 season, a message of hope of support continues.
What a perfect day to kick off such a great event, Dr. King would be proud.
