HOUSTON, TX – The results are in! It seems the 2013 Houston City Council elections played out like a game of musical chairs. Some managed to steal a seat, while others were left without a spot to sit in.

City Council incumbents Helena Brown (Northwest Houston’s District A) and Andrew Burks Jr. (At-Large Position 2) were two members who got the boot.

Brown lost her re-match with Brenda Stardig. That’s the same council-member Brown took the seat from two years ago!

Civic leader and former city planning commissioner David Robinson robbed Burks of his city council position too.

Voters picked three fresh faces to fill the seats of term-limited members.

Then there’s former bail bondsman, civic activist, and now Houston City Council member Michael Kubosh.

Kubosh took the seat vacated by Councilwoman Melissa Noriega.

A conservative, best known for leading the fight against Houston’s red light cameras,  says he’s happy to be in an inside position where he can implement change.
