HOUSTON, TX – The Phoenix on Westheimer became Women’s World Cup Central on Sunday as the Houston Dash hosted a viewing party for the tournament final.
The USA won 5-2 over Japan, clinching the country’s first World Cup trophy since 1999.
Houston Dash player Carli Lloyd starred for the Americans, scoring a hat-trick of goals. Lloyd is the first woman to ever score three goals in a World Cup final.
