HOUSTON, TX - A gorgeous weekend of sunshine is the perfect opportunity to get out and see what's happening around Houston!

Wet 'n' Wild SplashTown opens
We could not ask for better weather for the opening of Wet 'n' Wild SplashTown. Starting Saturday at 10 a.m., you can hit the slides. The water park just went through a multi-million dollar renovation, including improvements inside and outside the venue. It also added some health choices to the food menu.

Houston Astros
The Astros are in the middle of a four-game series against the Mariners. They won Thursday night, adding to their now seven-game winning streak. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. on Friday, 6:10 p.m. on Saturday and 1:10 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are still available for all those games.

Wild West Brew Fest
The fourth-annual Wild West Brew Fest kicks things off Friday night with its launch party, which runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Brew Fest itself gets going Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. The event features more than 150 brewers and was named the second-best brew fest in the entire country.

Houstonia Derby Party
It's also Kentucky Derby weekend and Houstonia and the Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation are hosting a big party at the Houstonia House. Be there for "the two best minutes in sports," plus a mint julep competition, delicious hors d'oeuvres and live entertainment. Don't forget your hat; there will be prizes awarded for "best hat" and "best dressed gentleman."

Santo de Mayo 5K 
Running, beer and Cinco de Mayo? The inaugural Santo de Mayo 5K run celebrates all three on Sunday. The USATF-certified course winds through the northside warehouse district before dumping you back at Saint Arnold Brewing. The event wraps up with a Cinco de Mayo celebration complete with live music and, of course, beer.

Lemonade Day Houston
Young entrepreneurs are taking a stand on Lemonade Day. More than 55,000 kids in Houston will set up stands throughout town on Sunday. It's part of a national movement to teach our youth how to start, own and operate their own businesses.
