HOUSTON, TX – There’s no place like home, especially if you’re selling yours in Houston. The housing market is setting records.

For the 4th month in a row, home sale prices have reached record highs.

In June the median price home cost $192,000, with the average price of a house increasing to over  $268,000.

A total of $2.2 billion were spent on homes during the month of June, with homes selling between $250,000 and $1 million above seeing the largest increase.

So what’s behind these record numbers?

Danny Frank, Chairman of the Board of the Houston Association of Realtors explained, “There’s all these jobs going around all over Texas and Houston is getting the majority of the jobs, and where jobs are, housing has to come next.”

If your house is for sale, that’s awesome!

“If you’re thinking about selling a house, now is the time to do it.”

Not the best news if you’re looking to buy your dream home, since there’s a lot of competition out there. But with interest rates still low, you can still get a lot of bang for your buck.
