HOUSTON - A couple of candidates running for Houston mayor are apparently having trouble gaining attention in the race.

Republicans Nguyen Thai Hoc and Victoria Lane claim they're not being treated fairly, and say part of the reason is the media.

"We are not being invited to these debates that are televised and so we need our Freedom of Information Act and the FCC needs to help us," Lane says.

Lane states she's been given the runaround when it comes to getting herself in front of voters.

Nguyen Thai Hoc says, "We are demanding the equal time, the equal opportunity so that all Houstonians can hear from us and pick the right leader for city of Houston mayor."

These two mayoral hopefuls talk about fixing potholes and lowering taxes, like many of the well-known candidates.

In order to be a front-runner or even get in the headlines, seems like candidates have to say something stupid like Donald Trump.

The game of politics comes with the territory.
