HOUSTON — Houston police are investigating a  gruesome case of animal cruelty after residents in a southeast Houston neighborhood found several dead kittens.

In July, officers were called to an apartment in the 7900 block of Morley Street regarding kittens being killed. The occupants said they came home and found two kittens burned to death just outside. One of the kittens had a crushed skull, officers said.

Houston Police Department said similar incidents of animal cruelty have been reported in the area.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to a charge or an arrest in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call 713-222-TIPS (8477).
