HOUSTON — Houston police are searching for a gunman involved in the death of a security guard Thursday afternoon at a game room on the northwest side of town, according to investigators.

Homicide detectives said Pedro Josue Garcia, 34, was working security at a game room in the 7300 block of Breen Drive when an armed man tried entering the business through the front door around 3 p.m.

Investigators said shots were exchanged between Garcia and the intruder and the guard was struck several times.

His suspected killer was also shot — in the leg — but managed to make it outside to a black Nissan Titan pickup truck driven by a second man, investigators said.

The two men sped off, officials said.

Investigators said paramedics took Garcia to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Anyone with information in this shooting is asked to call the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
