HOUSTON — A Houston man is dead after a confrontation with another driver on the Southwest Freeway escalated to violence, investigators said.
According to the Houston Police Department, the incident happened on the inbound main lanes of US 59 near Richmond Avenue around 2:15 a.m.
Police units were called to the scene by a witness who said her husband shot a man on the freeway.
HPD said the husband and wife were in their car after being involved in a minor fender-bender with another vehicle.
The two vehicles stopped in the moving lanes, and the driver of the striking vehicle got into a verbal altercation with the woman’s husband.
Police said the driver of the striking vehicle pulled out a knife, and the woman’s husband shot him on the freeway.
Houston police are investigating the incident.
