DES MOINES, IA – Iowa may want to consider changing ‘the field of dreams’ to ‘the field of screams’ because there’s an STD outbreak sweeping through the state. This is something that should have Iowans covering and re-covering, their bases. The little corn kernel of a state has seen a 420% jump in cases of syphilis in just 10 months.

The increased number of cases is seen primarily in gay or bisexual men, between the ages of 20 and 55. So, if you’ve gotten down in the northern state recently, a list of things to look out for include: enlarged lymph glands, headaches, skin rashes, fever, sore throat, swelling in the joints. Problem is many times syphilis carriers don’t know they’re infected.

That’s why testing is so important, but our best advice would be to keep your corn cob in its husk.
