HOUSTON - We don’t want to alarm you but your smart TV could be spying on you. All Samsung Smart TVs come with a voice-activation feature. It doesn’t matter whether the TV is turned on or off it’s listening to you *ALL* the time.

Samsung’s privacy policy isn’t new but apparently someone actually read it and discovered that it includes the warning, “Please be aware that if spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third-party through your use of Voice Recognition.” If you think it sounds a little like George Orwell’s "1984," then you’re not alone.

Samsung Smart TVs aren’t the only devices listening to you. Some smart phones, gaming and navigation systems have voice activation and are listening all the time as well

To keep your TV from eavesdropping on your private conversations, just turn off voice activation control.
