JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – Just when you thought you’d seen it all with ISIS, comes this: a child executioner.
Islamic state released a video supposedly showing a 12-year-boy killing 19-year-old Mohamed Said Ismail Musallam, an Israeli citizen of Palestinian descent.
ISIS claims he was a spy for Israel. His family says he was manipulated by ISIS recruiters with promises of girls, money, and cars.
But something went wrong, because the video also showed Musallam reading a prepared confession before his execution at the hands of the child.
President Obama’s request for authorization to use military force against ISIS was the subject of administration testimony to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States cannot let ISIS murderers and thugs continue to incite terrorism around the world.
“It is clear that even while savage attacks continue there is the beginning of a process to cut off their supply lines, take out their leaders.”
President Obama’s new secretary defense, Ashton Carter, welcomed congressional debate, but told senators that there is more at stake than political territory. “It will demonstrate to our men and women in uniform, some of whom are in harm's way right now, that all of us stand unflinchingly behind them.”
Meantime, Iraqi security forces have taken back about 80 percent of karma, northeast of Falluja, in their fight to save their country while u-s politicians fight to protect their careers.
